VERY JANE GIVEAWAY

https://veryjane.com/giveaway.htm

VERY JANE IS DOING A GIVEAWAY AND THE PRICES ARE AWESOME! CHECK IT OUT, ENTER & WIN (HOPEFULLY!)!!!!!!!!

Very Jane Blanket Deal

So I decided that my next Very Jane deal would be BLANKETS! Even though this seems like it would take forever to do, I feel like it might be the easiest because there aren't as many steps as all the other ones I have done.
So here are the blankets I will be offering and the minky that I think goes well with them.
White of course would go with any of these blankets.

ANY COLOR! I really love this with yellow!

Yellow, Orange, Brown are the top three. It would also look good with Dark Turquoise. you could do olive & red, but they won't match exactly.

Light Pink, Tiffany, Pink

I think White is really the best color but if you want a bright color I would do Pink, Yellow, Turquoise, Orange, Fuchsia, Navy.

White is the best. But any color would work if you want it that way!

 Fuchsia, Watermelon, Pink, Light Pink

 Charcoal, Black, Tiffany, Red
 White, Ivory, Orange, Brown

 White, Fuchsia, Lime Green

 Brown, Dark Turquoise, Olive, Mango
White, Olive, Turquoise, Orange, Mango, Dark Turquoise
 Dark Turquoise, Turquoise, Olive, Brown

 Pink, Turquoise, Dark Turquoise, Olive

 Turquoise, Olive, Orange, Ivory, Brown
Pink, Light Pink, White, Turquoise, Olive
 White, Orange, Olive, Dark Turquoise

 White, Ivory, Turquoise, Orange

Pink, Light Pink, White, Ivory, Turquoise

 White, Black

 Turquoise, Olive, Ivory

These are just the colors that I would pick, but you can of course pick any color!

Don't be scared to chase your dreams, they will only haunt you if you don't!

Lately.. I think my brain is on overload mode. I can't stop thinking about things I want to do, goals, dreams...
On Saturday I standing at the tattoo shop, thinking... waiting for my tattoo artist to finish drawing my needle & thread tattoo.. and I was looking up at the wall of all the flash tattoo art work.. then it came to me.
I WANT TO DESIGN MY OWN FABRIC.
Well actually it was already planted in my head, my friend Erin (check out her blog) told me I should have my own augie & lola fabric line.
So.. after two days of thinking about it, well three, because she told me on Friday...
I posted something on Instagram and Facebook and instantly had two people write me, and then a few more people..
I asked my friend/tattoo artist Jason to draw something for me, and then my husbands friend draw something else.. then I remembered this other tattoo artist. I have never met him, but he bought a bib from me when his son was born, and I checked out his etsy shop and he had this AMAZING flash art work.. I don't want to give too much away but what it was, but it was great.
So I messaged him and he told me to give him a call, because he was totally in and had a few more ideas.
Now.. I HATE talking to people on the phone I don't know.. it's weird, I get weird, and I start talking a lot... more than I normally do.. and I talk fast and start to repeat what I'm saying...
Anyway.. so he had some great ideas, and I am SO excited to work with him and Jason and Aaron!

So once I get the artwork, I will be using spoonflower to print the fabric. And from there, I will start making what I make now, but it will be with fabric that I helped design!

On another note... I am currently working on getting my own website! But that will take some time!

DREAM BIG!

Busy!

The month of May was super crazy, wild, fun, crazy.. did I say crazy? May was a great month for augie & lola baby boutique. I had a lot of exposure from lilsugar.com, they did a write up on my bermuda chevron with yellow minky baby blanket.
(found here - https://www.etsy.com/listing/98032853/baby-blanket-chevron-baby-blanket-with )
June has been a little slower sales wise, which is fine, because I needed to catch up! In the next few days or weeks I will be featured on http://www.thatmamagretchen.com/ and then in August, I will be featured on http://jonesdesigncompany.com/, they will be hosting a giveaway, and my black & white chevron with yellow minky blanket will be part of it! (found here - https://www.etsy.com/listing/97319782/baby-blanket-chevron-baby-blanket-with )

You should follow both these blogs!!

Last week I ordered my first wholesale order of minky fabric! It was like Christmas when the UPS man came.
You can check out my fabric shop on etsy -  www.etsy.com/shop/augieandlolafabric
I will be adding Riley Blake & Cloud 9 fabric hopefully in July! I can't wait for that fabric to come!!

I really will try and blog more.. I give props to those that can keep on blogging EVERY DAY!!!

10:09

I feel like this is more of a personal blog than a promote my business blog.. but whatever!
I should be getting some work done, but I am so tired and all I can think about it sleep...but then I can't sleep because I think about all the work I have to do! Lola has been such a grump at night lately that it is really hard for me to get started at a decent time... see it's already 10...I just heard her cry, but luckily Matt was able to stop her before she went all crazy pants on us. She is the COMPLETE opposite of August when it comes to bed time, he was the best sleeping baby ever!

Anywhoo...
Got some new chevron fabric in the mail today from The Fab Store on etsy. I am excited to get my hands on some of the Riley Blake Chevron.. I knew when it first came out I should have bought a bunch, but waited and then it was sold out on so many sites! I was glad she had some, and then I also got the Robert Kaufman Remix Zig Zag (chevron) and some others. I also bought 3 different Michael Miller Guitar fabrics from Hawthorne Threads, they are one of my favorites, super fast shipping!
I'm expecting a giant order of minky, always love getting new fabric in the mail no matter what it is!
BUT I have so much that I need to figure out a different way to store it all!
I need to plan a trip to ikea so I can get another shelving unit.

Well enough about fabric... off to cut it all out!

New Items

So I've decided to start adding new items to my shop. One of the first things will be pacifier clips, and fold & roll changing pads!
Once my aunt moves here and gets her serger out, we are also going to start making swaddle blankets, and reusable wipes (I have a few for Lola that I use to wipe snot or crusty face and I LOVE them).
I also want to add crib sheets and changing pad covers!
So many fun things that I can't wait to get in the shop!

What do I post about?!

So I heard blogging is a really good way to promote yourself....but what am I suppose to write about?!
The projects I'm working on, the things I want to make but have no time...I don't know! Here are some blankets I recently finished. The last one is an organic cotton, Cloud 9, Monsterz Mash. The first one is red zig zag remix (chevron) from Robert Kaufman. I already sold the key one to a customer in Canada with the last name Keyes!

So currently I'm working on a few more blankets and then a wipeable changing pad. It is with PUL fabric and I have never used that, so I am hoping it goes smoothly. I also ordered some stuff to start making paci clips. I want to do a deal on veryjane.com (if you haven't checked out that site.. you should). Hopefully I'll get all that stuff this week, because I really want to start on it!
Other than that, I've been staying busy with orders and sewing new blankets.

Goals..Dreams...

So who knew that I would love to sew...so much. And that all I could think about was my next project. Yeah, because honestly, if you would of told me what I'd be doing now... a few years ago, I'd laugh.
I guess I have always had a crafty side, I just never really dove in head first like I'm doing with this sewing stuff. I love to create and have so many ideas, but I either didn't have the tools to do it, or just didn't have the time. Now I make the time.. see what time it is!?

I have a goal....a dream..
In a year, I would like to have a fabric store online, through etsy. And in 5 years, I would like to think about opening a store front. I know the 5 year dream is a big one, but I think if I can start small, and grow each year, that maybe I will get to that point. Both kids will be in school, I'll have a little more free time on my hands (except for when the kids are in sports..which I hope they do sports!).

Anyway, thought I would share this with you.. so in a year, I'll look back at this post and hopefully say.. YES I did accomplish this goal!

Blog More!

My goal for March is to start blogging more...well we are already into the 6th day and this is my first post.. so I guess it isn't going too well!

Anyway, I have been working on adding new blankets to my etsy shop. It is funny that I started out making shoes, but then quickly decided to do bibs & burp cloths, and now I find myself doing blankets! I love doing all of them, but sometimes I'm not in the mood to deal with putting shoes together, or cutting out the bibs.

These are the first two blankets that I did and put on my etsy page. I LOVE the second one with the bears. It is so much better in person than the pictures. I almost don't want to sell it....
Hopefully tomorrow I can finish this really cute deer one, and another owl one (same print as the first, but in green and white minky) and then I have a few others, but on Thursday I am expecting a BUNCH of fabric for a few custom orders.
Well that's it for now... I promise to start blogging more!

So many projects...so little time.

I feel like I make myself go crazy because I want to try out so many new projects that I can't figure out what to do first...
I started making a Japanese knot handbag.. I haven't finished it, I only need to sew the handle tops together and top stitch a part of it, it's cute, but I don't think I'll ever use it.
I made a coffee cup sleeve. It was super easy and I gave it to my friend Samantha. I will end up making more of those I'm sure. I also started making baby boots for Lola. Seriously, those little bastards are annoying! I didn't even finish it yet because I got so annoyed.
I need to focus more on my etsy shop instead of doing other random things. BUT I do have 2 rag quilts to make and 2 minky blankets to make in the next few weeks. I am REALLY excited about the rag quilts. One is for my friend Anni, she is a photographer in Maryland, and is using it as a photo prop. The other one is for my best friends baby shower, she's having her second boy in March and the shower is at the end of the month. I'm hoping to get both of them done by then.
I set myself a little calendar with what I want to get done everyday. I can't sew too much during the day.. I have two little ones to care for, so most of it is done at night. I don't go to bed for midnight anymore...which probably isn't a good thing!

Anyway.. enough blabbing.
I will get better at posting on here.. and I'll add more pictures!
Thanks for the support!

Been awhile.

Tonight's finished project: owl corduroy burp cloth with chenille on the back. In other news I had to get a new sewing machine. It's NICE. More on that later!
